Cease Fire in Syria. More focus on Isis?

Friday night US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to agree upon a cease-fire for Syria. They agreed to work together on targeting Islamist Militant groups. This is a great thing for our world. Isis has been claiming a lot of terrorist attacks in the past year or so, while we have been sending airstrikes here and there. Sure, one of the leaders of Isis was killed recently by a drone strike, but that is not enough. Isis has grown so large and killing one person will not do much. Now with this agreeance of a cease-fire, the US and Russia can try to plan a way to diminish the threat of global terrorism. In the last few months of President Obama's second and final term, the US looks to get rid of Isis. Obama's legacy as president, as of right now, includes the rise of Isis. Will he be able to rid Isis before his term is up? Feel free to leave a comment or concern and stay tuned for more posts about what is happening in our world today.

  1. I don't think that Obama or any president can rid the world of a terrorist organization. To get rid of a group such as ISIS it would require the attention of the surrounding countries and people living in the areas under ISIS control to combat the group. Although the US and other countries could help with the threat they would need the countries ISIS is near to continually combat terrorism for a long term solution to be achieved. While this cease fire is a step towards working to defeat ISIS it is not going to help bring about an end solution to the problem.

  2. Personally I think everything is rigged. The government is corrupt, if they really cared to eliminate Isis then it would be eliminated. The government has a lot of cloak and dagger stuff going on behind closed doors so they keep the public distracted with this Isis business. So let alone asking if Obama can eliminate Isis, nah. The president barely has control over anything, it's all a mind game being played. The quote to "divide and conquer" should not be slept on. Another thing as far as the U.S always trying to look innocent, you know the U.S was getting down and dirty doing something they shouldn't be doing to have this war with Isis going on.
